Russia has again attacked Ukraine with full force the day before new peace talks in Abu Dhabi. In Kyiv, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte says that the attacks show that Russia is not serious when it talks about peace.

On Tuesday night, Russia carried out its most powerful attacks against Ukraine this year - attacks that do not indicate goodwill ahead of this week's talks with Ukraine and the US, Rutte said, who heard the air raid sirens sound over Kyiv during his visit, reports AFP.

Direct talks are underway and that is an important step. But attacks like these suggest that Moscow is not serious about peace.

In a speech to parliament, he said he was calling on NATO countries to dig deep into their stockpiles to provide Ukraine with additional air defenses so that the country can withstand future attacks.

He also promised that the security guarantees agreed upon by Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump are "rock solid."

"We know that it will take difficult choices for Ukraine to reach an agreement to end the war. You need to know with absolute certainty that no matter what sacrifices you make, how many lives you have lost, devastation you have suffered, it will not be repeated," he said.

Peace will not be maintained because a paper has been signed, but because there are strong forces that can back it up, he continued, according to Kyiv Independent.

According to all three countries, the peace talks in Abu Dhabi will begin on Wednesday and last for two days.
