At least three people were killed in overnight Russian attacks on the city of Dnipro, The Kyiv Independent reports. According to the newspaper, about a dozen more people were injured, including at least two children. Several apartments in the apartment building were reportedly destroyed.
In addition to Dnipro, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Poltava were attacked, among others.
"Tragically, one life was also lost in the Kharkiv region, and people were also injured in the Kyiv and Poltava regions," President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on X.
According to Zelensky, Russia fired more than 450 attack drones and 45 missiles of various types against Ukraine during the night.
The attacks led to power outages in several Ukrainian regions. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated on Telegram that major energy facilities in Kiev, Poltava and Kharkiv were damaged.
In recent months, Russia has escalated its attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, including damaging natural gas facilities used for heating.
"Despite the enemy's plans, Ukraine will have light and heat this winter," Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Hryntchuk wrote on social media on Saturday.
