In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry accuses NATO members of an "irresponsible decision that could lead to disaster" and also accuses European countries of preparing "for an armed conflict with Russia."
During the meeting on Wednesday, NATO countries pledged 70 billion euros in support for Ukraine in 2026 and at least as much in 2027. Of that, 30 billion a year will come from the EU's agreed 90 billion loan.
In connection with the NATO summit, US President Donald Trump promised, in a separate meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that the country would receive a licence to manufacture missiles for the Patriot air defence system.
