Örgryte won the All-Swedish football qualifiers with a total score of 3–0. The goalless return at Parken on Saturday took over four hours to complete. The match was interrupted several times after mainly home fans threw pyrotechnics onto the pitch.
On Monday evening, the club management invited members to a meeting. Chairman Martin Gyllix revealed that the club is facing a deficit of 24.8 million kronor.
"We have made a transfer net that has given us 24 million in revenue. And that is 24 million better than we had budgeted," says Gyllix according to Norrköpings Tidningar.
The sale of Kojo Peprah Oppong to Nice this summer provided an important addition.
“For the good of the association”
IFK Norrköping launched a savings package in the spring to get its finances in order.
"Relegation from the Allsvenskan is terrible. But losing the elite license is worse because then we would have fallen even further down the league system. Everything we have done is for the best of the association," says club director André Skagervik according to NT.
The association expects a revenue loss of SEK 30 million in the Super League next year.
Several members asked questions about why sports director Magni Fannberg was fired in the middle of the season.
No news about Falk
Chairman Martin Gyllix claimed "employer responsibility" and "confidentiality" and did not want to go into details, but commented in general terms:
We need a sports director who keeps a good tone and is friendly with agents. He needs to keep an eye on the academy and what's working. Who's on the rise? We need a sports director who has foresight for the transfer window.
No announcement about coach Martin Falk's future was made by the club management.
An evaluation is underway, says new sports director Henrik Jurelius.
