The Swedish economy shrank slightly in October, according to preliminary figures from Statistics Sweden.

GDP fell by 0.3 percent, compared to the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, GDP increased by 2.1 percent.

"Activity in the Swedish economy decreased slightly in October with lower production in the business sector and declining household consumption," says Melker Pettersson Loberg, economist at Statistics Sweden, in a press release.

Household consumption decreased by 0.9 percent in October compared to September, according to Statistics Sweden.

Then the industry is doing better. Order intake increased by 4.7 percent compared to September and in one year, order intake to the industry has increased by over twelve percent, according to calendar-adjusted figures.

Clearly the largest increase is in incoming orders from the domestic market, while orders on the export market fell on a monthly basis.
