Swedish star Lucas Raymond was involved in all of Detroit's goals as the team beat the New York Rangers 2-1 on the road. He was responsible for both an assist and a goal.

Raymond got his first point of the game when he set up Alex DeBrincat for the very first goal of the game, which came just over nine minutes into the second period.

Swedish Mika Zibanejad raised the temperature when he scored an equalizer twelve minutes into the second period. After that, however, the Rangers' scoring stopped.

Instead, Raymond ensured the team's victory, when he got the puck into the goal with less than four minutes left in the game, with the help of team captain Dylan Larkin and teammate Moritz Seider.

Raymond rounded the goal, waited a while, and then shot the puck into the goal.

"I just tried to stick with it, see what opened up, and in the end I was basically alone in front of the goal," Raymond said, according to nhl.com .

Shots are a big part of the game and this time it was perhaps the right decision not to shoot (directly).

Before the game, the Rangers honored legendary NHL journalist Larry Brooks, who passed away earlier this week. During his 38 years at the New York Post, he primarily covered the home team.
