Raid on airline after deadly plane crash

The police in South Korea have conducted a raid on the offices of both Jeju Air and the company that operates Muan Airport, following the plane crash in December when 179 people died.

The CEO of the airline Kim Lee-Bae has also been banned from leaving the country, reports Yonhap.

On Thursday, the police conducted searches at several locations regarding the fatal plane crash that occurred in Muan, South Korea, on December 29. Among other things, raids were carried out at Muan Airport, a regional flight office in Muan, and Jeju Air's headquarters in the capital Seoul.

"The police plan to quickly and rigorously determine the cause and responsibility for the accident in accordance with the law," the police said in a statement.

Jeju Air's CEO Kim Yi-bae has been banned from leaving the country, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

181 people were on board the plane when it had problems during landing and crashed into a concrete wall. Only two crew members survived the crash.
