TV and radio personality Jonas Hallberg is dead. He passed away on Friday, his family told DN. He suffered from a heart condition, but it came very suddenly, one of his sons told the newspaper.

Hallberg had a long career in Swedish radio and television. Among other things, he hosted SVT's live "Måndagsbörsen" in the 1970s and 80s. Among the interviewees were artists such as the Ramones, U2 and Gyllene Tider and talk guests such as Olof Palme and Leif GW Persson.

Hallberg is also known from Sveriges Radio's talk show "Spanarna". He joined in the late 80s and was for a long time one of the program's most loyal scouts alongside Jonas Gardell and Helena von Zweigbergk, among others – first in P3 and then in P1.

Jonas Hallberg was born in Stockholm and began his career as an entertainer with student talk during his law studies in Uppsala. Hallberg's low-key, slightly student-like humor followed him throughout his career.

He has also performed as a theater actor and stand-up comedian, and in 2010 his book "What is Truth and 100 Other Very Important Questions" was published.

Hallberg turned 80 years old.
