British publisher Harper Collins is to stop publishing books by best-selling children's author David Walliams, The Telegraph reports. Walliams is accused of harassing young female employees at the publisher. A woman who complained about the harassment reportedly left the company after signing a financial settlement, and the publisher also advised some employees not to meet him alone, The Guardian reports.
Walliams strongly denies all allegations. His spokesperson states that he has never been involved in any investigation or given the opportunity to answer questions.
David Walliams made his breakthrough in the early 2000s in the BBC television program “Little Britain.” However, the series was removed from streaming services in 2020 after complaints about its portrayal of people of non-British ethnic backgrounds.
