The organization, which includes SVT, SR, Sveriges Tidskrifter and Tidningsutgivarna, believes the advertisements violate the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA).
"The hoax ads affect innocent people and damage the credibility of the media and of well-known journalists who are being falsely exploited," said Publishers Association Chairman James Savage in a press release.
The organization wants the European Commission to investigate whether Meta, which owns Facebook, is violating the DSA by not doing enough to remove the fraudulent ads.
The publishers have previously filed police reports against Meta and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, including for fraud, over distributing fraudulent ads without taking necessary action.
