Four people have been arrested after serious disturbances during the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra's concert in Paris on Thursday evening, according to Le Monde.

The Philharmonie de Paris concert hall has filed a complaint, stating that audience members tried to disrupt the concert, including by lighting flares. The French channel BFMTV documented the violent commotion . The concert was able to resume after the people were removed.

French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez condemned the incident and thanked the police for their swift intervention. Culture Minister Rachida Dati also condemned the disruptions: "The freedom to choose programs and create is a fundamental right in our republic!" she wrote on X.

At the same time, EU parliamentarian Manon Aubry (LFI) refuses to condemn the attack.

"These are not just any musicians - they represent the Israeli state. The best way to prevent incidents like this from happening again is for the Israeli government to stop the massacre of an entire people," she tells CNews-Europe 1.

Before the concert, pro-Palestinian groups had demanded that it be canceled.

Marine Le Pen, party leader of the National Rally, claims on X that the incident was provoked by "anti-Semitic activists on the far left" and that it "could have ended in tragedy."

The Philharmonie de Paris emphasizes in a statement that it welcomes both Israeli and Palestinian artists without political demands: "Violence is not a topic of debate - and bringing it into a concert hall is very serious."
