In the beginning of April, the 65-year-old man was sentenced to 40,000 kronor in damages and a conditional sentence for unlawful persecution in the Ångermanland district court.
The prosecutor believes that the events "appear individually as less serious but seen in a context, they constitute a tangible violation of integrity, which was the case here".
The man has also appealed the verdict, according to SVT.
The man's lawyer, Thomas Bodström, writes to the court of appeal that the criminality has not been proven.
The man persecuted Frida Karlsson for one year and four months. According to the indictment, he called the skiing star 207 times, left numerous voice messages, and sent numerous SMS. Over 7,000 images were found on the man's mobile phone, almost all of them of Karlsson.
He has also sought out Karlsson at several locations, including outside the 25-year-old's apartment in Östersund.
The prosecutor demanded six months' imprisonment.
