The film festival "Swedish film goes Capri" begins this year with a tribute evening dedicated to Astrid Lindgren and Pippi Longstocking. The festival takes place on June 5-7 at Villa San Michele and among the guests are actress Inger Nilsson as well as Ambassador Jan Björklund.
The festival is open to the public and the films are screened under the open sky in the garden at San Michele. This year's audience will, among other things, get to see Pernille Fischer Christensen's "Young Astrid" as well as the documentary "It Could Have Been Us" directed by Björn Tjärnberg and Rebecca Brander. Their film is about a Sweden that conducted race research and placed people with intellectual disabilities in institutions. Coming to Capri are Ida Johansson and Pär Johansson from Glada Hudik Theatre who worked on the film.
Behind the festival are the Swedish Embassy, Villa San Michele's curator Kristina Kappelin, as well as coordinator Ann-Louice Dahlgren.
