New Zealander Peter Jackson says he and his wife, Fran Walsh, have been working on a script about the young journalist created almost 100 years ago by Belgian cartoonist Hergé.
However, it's taken a long time. Back in 2011, "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn" came out. At the time, Jackson was a producer and Steven Spielberg directed. They were then supposed to swap roles. Since then there have been many reports of a sequel, but none has materialized.
"The idea was that Steven would direct one and I would direct the other," Jackson said at the Cannes Film Festival, where he received an honorary Palme d'Or.
"So Steven made his movie, and for 15 years I haven't made mine. It's been a little hard."
