The person had been receiving sickness compensation since 2016 due to depression and social phobia.
But this year, the person reported improved work capacity and registered with the Swedish Public Employment Service - which prompted the Swedish Social Insurance Agency to launch an investigation, writes VLT.
There, bank statements showed the person had visited other cities for several years, traveled abroad and taken ferry trips. Payments at restaurants, clothing stores, cafes and hardware stores were also found.
According to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the person should previously have reported the improved work capacity. Therefore, the entire amount of SEK 1,293,859 must be repaid, according to the agency.
