Classic club Örebro SK remains in the elite of Swedish football. It is clear after a penalty shootout against Hammarby's "second team" Hammarby TFF in the Superettan qualifiers.

ÖSK was under pressure to win the return match at Behrn Arena to avoid their first season outside the top two leagues since 1940.

Hammarby's promising 17-year-old Adrian Lahdo was in the starting lineup. The midfielder did not play in the first match, which HTFF won 1–0.

After a quarter of an hour, Lahdo was close to giving HTFF the lead when he drilled a free kick into the crossbar.

Disallowed goal

Instead, the home team struck. In a chaotic situation in front of goal, Kalle Holmberg scored 1–0 – and thus the doubleheader was level.

Shortly before halftime, ÖSK thought the team had increased when Ahmed Yasin scored a corner kick, but referee Victor Wolf disallowed the goal for a foul on HTFF goalkeeper Amar Dzevlan.

Holmberg expressed his frustration in Expressen's broadcast:

I don't know. I think our players are standing and just because a goalkeeper falls, it should suddenly be a free kick.

When he saw the replay, his anger took on new momentum:

Look! We're standing and their players are pushing him (ÖSK's players). He's pushing. LOOK! It's a goal, one hundred percent, said Holmberg in Expressen's broadcast.

In the second half, the game swung back and forth. Despite several chances on both sides, the game was not decided during regular time and the match was forced into extra time.

“It's unbelievable”

Once there, it didn't take long for Adrian Lahdo to step forward. With a quick finish, he gave HTFF the lead with 2–1 on aggregate. However, Örebro would reply through John Stenberg. The whole thing ended up being decided via penalty kicks.

Örebro put everyone there and will continue to play in the Super League in 2026.

"It's absolutely unbelievable. To turn it around like this. It's absolutely crazy," says Örebro's Melvin Bajrovic.

Right-back Jesper Modig fills in:

It's unbelievable. We've been at a disadvantage all fucking year. Now we're all turning up our noses. I'm so fucking proud of everyone. It's euphoria.
