Omar Faraj Scores Five as Degerfors Triumphs Over Halmstad

Omar Faraj saved Degerfors in their return to the top division. The forward made a fantastic five goals (!) in the away win with 5–0 over Halmstad. A really nice feeling. Before, I have received a lot of criticism for not being able to finish, he says to Max.

Faraj scored a goal in the first half and four after the break – including two penalty kicks.

I've scored four goals, but never five, says the 23-year-old.

According to Max, he is now writing himself into an exclusive group together with Gunnar Nordahl, Sven Rydell, and Kim Bergstrand, who previously scored five goals in the same Allsvenskan match.

It's an honor, he says.

It's a really nice feeling, a lot is released now. I've scored some goals in the preseason, but it doesn't matter, he says.

Omar Faraj left Allsvenskan last year when he was sold by AIK, but is now back on loan to the newcomer from Egyptian Zamalek.

Four goals in the second

Faraj scored the leading goal in the final seconds of the first half.

In the second, the big show came when he scored four times – including two penalties.

Degerfors has only been down in Superettan and waited, but the start of the return was a celebration and jubilation.

Fell after a nightmare start

For the other newcomer Öster, back in Allsvenskan after twelve long years, it wasn't as cheerful and they lost in Norrköping with 3–4.

A nightmare start ruined the return.

After just 19 minutes, the home team IFK Norrköping led 2–0 after close-range goals by Sebastian Jørgensen and David Moberg Karlsson.

Norrköping went up to a 4–1 lead before Öster could make the end dramatic.

Mattis Adolfsson reduced the lead twice, the second goal came in the 90th minute and created tension during the added time when the home team's Tim Prica also got a red card.

The first Öster goal in Allsvenskan since 2013 was scored by Mattias Tamminen.
