The Foreign Agreement is a collective agreement that the trade union for employed military personnel has concluded with the Swedish Armed Forces. The agreement regulates conditions and compensation for personnel serving abroad.
The agreement has now been terminated because the union believes that it "no longer provides sufficient conditions for sustainable international service," according to a press release.
The union points to, among other things, changed requirements as a result of NATO membership and an increased burden on staff.
"Sweden needs more people who are prepared to serve internationally. But the conditions must also work in practice," says chairman Stefan Morin.
The agreement will now be renegotiated.
