William Nylander had to leave the ice with an injury when Toronto won the "Battle of Ontario" against Ottawa 7-5 in the NHL tonight. It's a lower-body injury, Toronto coach Craig Berube said.

Already an Olympic qualifier, Nylander was forced to leave the ice just under seven minutes into the second period due to an injury. But the Swede could be back in Toronto's next game in Detroit on Monday night, Swedish time.

"He's coming to that game, which is a good sign. It's a lower body injury, we'll see how he feels tomorrow," Toronto coach Craig Berube said after the game.

Before he left the ice, Nylander had scored Toronto's go-ahead goal, 40 seconds into the first period.

One who has not been selected for the Olympics yet is Ottawa's goalie Linus Ullmark, who probably didn't strengthen his stock in tonight's match.

With just under a week left until Sam Hallam presents the Olympic squad, Ullmark had to let four pucks pass him in less than a period and a half and was substituted just over 7 minutes into the second period.

Despite a push in the third period, Ottawa could never quite catch up. The high-scoring affair ended 7–5 to Toronto.
