The man, who is in his 30s, denies the crime and opposes extradition – but according to the Oslo district court, the conditions for such a thing to happen are met.
As part of the court's assessment of the conditions for extradition, it is clear that the district court agrees with us that the accusation of the double murder does not appear to be incorrect, says Ole Kristian Holtsmark, prosecutor with the Norwegian police, to NRK.
The man's defender now has three days to appeal the decision and writes in the court decision that an extradition would risk the man's life.
”The two victims in the murder case are gang members, which means that the accused would be in significant danger of reprisals in the form of being killed himself”, emphasizes the lawyer in the court decision, reports Göteborgs-Posten.
It was on September 2 that two men, also in their 30s, were found shot to death in a car in the Lunden district of Göteborg. The suspected man was arrested during the night to Wednesday after a dramatic car chase in central Oslo.
The double murder is believed to be linked to the ongoing gang conflict in Biskopsgården.
