The first Swedish goal of the game came when Tampa's Pontus Holmberg scored 3–1. That was the last straw for New Jersey's Swedish goalie Jacob Markström, who had let three goals past him in just under eight minutes. He had to make way for second goalie Jake Allen.
It's a step back, Markström said after the game, according to nhl.com .
What did I play? Five minutes today? That's not what I want to do.
However, Jesper Bratt remained on the ice and fought for New Jersey, and in the second period he reduced the deficit to 2–5, on the power play.
They had some pucks coming in early, and it went uphill pretty much straight away, Bratt said according to nhl.com.
Of course, that's not what we wanted.
The pressure to score continued into the final period of the game, with the puck finding the net four times. Dane Oliver Bjorkstrand had a great day and closed the game with four minutes remaining. He totaled three points, with two goals and one assist.
