Netanyahu, invited to Washington after the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, handed over his gift to Trump during a dinner at the White House.

He is creating peace right now, in one country and in one region after another, said Netanyahu and handed over his Nobel Peace Prize nomination, which he claims to have sent to the Nobel Committee.

Trump: Hamas wants to meet

Netanyahu is himself already subject to an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) for allegations of war crimes in Gaza.

That it comes from you is especially very significant, replied Trump.

Trump further stated that Hamas wants to reach an agreement with Israel regarding the Gaza war.

They want to meet and they want a ceasefire.

Maintaining control

Netanyahu did not give any indication during the question period with reporters on how he himself relates to the American proposal for a ceasefire that Israel and Hamas are now holding indirect negotiations about in Qatar.

Netanyahu held on to the fact that Israel will "always" maintain security control over Gaza. When asked about the prospects for a two-state solution, the Israeli Prime Minister replied:

Palestinians should have all the power to govern themselves, but not the powers that threaten us.

People will say that it is not a full state, that it is not a state. We do not care.

Netanyahu said, however, that he believes in a broader peace in the region.

I believe that we can create peace between us and the entire Middle East with President Trump's leadership.
