India has committed itself not to escalate the situation with Pakistan, provided that the Pakistani side does the same, says Colonel Vyomika Singh on Saturday.

Shortly afterwards, similar tones came from Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The country can consider de-escalation if India stops attacking Pakistan, he said in Pakistani Geo News.

"Today, we have given India a fitting response and avenged innocent lives", says Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a statement, after consultation with all political parties.

Attacks from both parties

Earlier, during the night, the countries attacked each other.

India has with its naked aggression attacked with robots. Nur Khan base, Murid base and Shorkot base have been targeted, said Pakistan's military spokesperson Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry in state TV on Saturday night.

Most of the robots have been shot down, he claimed. According to the Pakistani administration in Kashmir, eleven civilians were killed and tens of injured in the attacks.

Nur Khan base in Rawalpindi, where Pakistan's military has its headquarters, lies about a mile from the capital Islamabad.

Pakistan announces that it has responded with its own robot attacks against India. An Indian weapons depot for robots as well as Indian air bases in Pathankot and Udhampur have been pointed out as targets by Pakistan's military, which claims to have been attacked with ballistic robots.

The country's airspace is being kept closed for 24 hours, until lunchtime on Sunday local time, according to Pakistan's aviation authority.

Fourth day of violence

It is the fourth day of escalated military violence between the two nuclear-armed nations.

Tensions have risen sharply after a massacre of tourists on April 22 in the Indian-controlled part of the long-disputed Kashmir region.

India accuses Pakistan of having given its support to the perpetrators, which is denied by the country.

On Wednesday night, India carried out an air strike against what the country describes as terrorist targets, in response to the massacre. The two nuclear-armed nations have exchanged several deadly attacks since then.

The information from both parties is difficult to verify.
