Näslund made a long-awaited comeback to the World Cup last week after two injury-plagued seasons. She immediately delivered a resounding message that she is still the rider to beat.
Näslund won both races in Val Thorens, which on Tuesday gave her a place in the Swedish Olympic squad and the opportunity to defend the gold from Zhangjiakou almost four years ago in February.
The ski cross star made it to the final without any problems via victories in all heats until the showdown with Fanny Smith, Switzerland, Daniela Maier, Germany and Mylene Ballett Baz, France.
Näslund was set for a really tough competition. In the final, she faced two of the toughest competitors, Smith and Maier.
"I saw "Danny" and Fanny in training and in the heats and they looked fast. I tried to believe it," says Näslund, who did not get a favorite position at the start.
After three competitions, Sandra Näslund has a maximum of 300 points. The next competition is in Innichen, Italy, this weekend.
Linnea Mobärg was eliminated in the quarterfinals and finished ninth.
Brother David Mobärg took third place in the men's final, which was won by Canadian Reece Howden.
For Erik Mobärg, it came to a halt in the quarterfinals where he finished third after the finishing photo. He finished ninth overall.
