Modo had six straight losses in SHL – lost 4–0 to 4–5 against Färjestad last – and was the only team in the league that hadn't won away.
Frölunda led the series and had won nine out of ten home matches.
Nothing spoke in favor of the bottom team.
Then it went as it went.
It felt like we had given ourselves hell to play all the way out and the guys did it in a good way, says Karlin.

Frölunda tried to come back, but Modo goalkeeper Olle Eriksson Ek took everything – 37 shots.

When Frölunda took out goalkeeper Tobias Normann with over two minutes left, Modo decided the game.

Home forward Mikael Ruohomaa, previously in Modo, sent the puck into his own goal when he missed a pass and the goal was credited to Alexander True, the last Modo player on the puck. Then Aagaard chipped in 3–0.
Last season, the Danish forward scored 16 goals when Modo stayed up as newcomers – this heavy autumn, it had only been two goals before Saturday's match in Scandinavium.
