This involves investment support for both the purchase and installation of a mobile or fixed backup power unit, which will enable grocery stores to operate in times of crisis or war, the Swedish National Food Agency announced in a press release.
This affects grocery stores in the counties of Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland and Jämtland, which can apply for support up to a maximum of one million kronor for each store.
“It is an important step in increasing the local ability to cope with societal disruptions,” says Kristina Hedman Jansson, emergency response officer at the Swedish National Food Agency.
The application is made via the Swedish National Food Agency's website starting on August 20.
