For just over two years, a man falsely told the Unionen unemployment fund that he worked as a personal assistant at a company in Gothenburg. That earned him 335,000 kronor, the union's newspaper Kollega.
Upon checking, it turned out that the 53-year-old had never worked at the company.
He is also suspected of embezzling SEK 478,000 in activity support from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
The man denies the allegations. During questioning, he said his then-wife handled contact with authorities and sent in cash cards without him understanding what he was signing.
