According to the indictment, the man is alleged to have violated the contact ban by attempting to contact Frida Karlsson and someone close to her, the news agency Siren reports, according to Aftonbladet. The contact attempts are alleged to have occurred several times during autumn 2025. The man is also alleged to have contacted Frida Karlsson's mother, Mia.
"We felt it was important to report it when it happened again," mother Mia Karlsson says to Expressen about the new indictment.
It was in April 2025 that the man was sentenced by Ångermanland District Court to a suspended sentence and a 40,000-kronor fine for unlawful stalking. The man stalked Karlsson for a year and four months. According to the indictment, he called the ski star 207 times, left dozens of voicemails and sent dozens of text messages.
"It affects more than just public figures. It is primarily women who are being victimised and it is also for them that I am doing this now," Frida Karlsson said during a press conference after the verdict, about why she reported the man to the police last time.
Both the man and the prosecutor have appealed the previous verdict to the Court of Appeal, but it is still unclear whether the court will take up the case.
The defendant also denies the new criminal charges.
