According to the results presented, the party won 23 out of 24 governor elections and is said to have received over 82 percent of the votes in the national assembly election.

These elections follow a presidential election held last summer, where Maduro was also attributed a victory with a large margin, which was questioned by the EU, the US, and others.

The elections also followed new crackdowns on opposition members in the country, where over 70 people were charged with wanting to "sabotage" the election.

Maduro – who consistently accuses all opposition of being part of foreign plots aimed at overthrowing him – describes the election results as a victory for "peace and stability". The president was challenged by massive protests in 2019, after he had disregarded an elected national assembly and strengthened his power position with constitutional amendments.
