The guests skated onto the ice with 1–3 in matches and were, like the previous meeting, whipped to win.
The first period became a tight story without goals, where Ullmark made twelve saves.
In the middle act, Ottawa managed to take the lead through Dylan Cozens. In the middle of the third, it looked like it would get sweaty when the home team got to play five against four. Then Cozens saw to it that the stake was turned and made it 2–0 after being served by teammate Adam Gaudette, who picked up a misplaced pass.
The home team pulled out the goalkeeper in the final minutes, without the desired result. Instead, Ottawa could nail down the final score through two goals in an open net signed Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk.
For Ullmark's part, the evening ended with a total of 27 saves. The zero was his first ever in Stanley Cup context.
Toronto has now dropped two match balls in the match series, which is decided in best of seven, but still leads 3–2.
