Linn Svahn won gold in the sprint and silver in the relay at the Olympics last month.
But the 26-year-old was hungry for more. Ahead of Thursday's World Cup sprint in Drammen, Linn Svahn spoke at a press conference.
She told Aftonbladet that she had expected to run the five-mile race.
"When you've expected to be at the start of something and have started preparing for it, it feels a bit like pulling the rug out from under you. It's not that fun," she said.
According to Expressen, Svahn received a text message saying she would be sent home.
"It has affected me," she told the newspaper.
Due to illness, only two of the four Swedish women ran the five-mile race at the Olympics.
