The Left Party is presenting investments of eight billion kronor in its economic spring motion, in addition to what the government has proposed.
Furthermore, the Left Party is saying no to the government's proposed temporary expansion of the ROT deduction. The party wants to use the money for preparedness jobs to strengthen infrastructure, such as water and sewage systems, shelters, energy systems, and healthcare infrastructure.
In this way, you get both job policy underway and build a stronger and more resilient Sweden, says economic policy spokesperson Ida Gabrielsson.
The Left Party estimates that the specific investment would create around 12,000 new jobs in 2025.
"Doing too little"
The Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar accuses the government of doing far too little to protect families in a difficult economic situation.
She paints a bleak picture of the situation of Swedish households.
We have mass unemployment in Sweden, we are soon at pandemic levels, she says.
It's getting harder and harder to pay the bills.
The investments in the Left Party's economic spring motion are primarily aimed at families with children and pensioners.
One proposal is for extra payments of child benefits and housing benefits in June and July. Another proposal is for increased housing supplements for pensioners and those receiving sickness and activity benefits.
Proposes defense tax
The eight billion kronor that the Left Party wants to invest, according to Ida Gabrielsson, will be financed through tax increases, such as a bank tax.
The Left Party is also proposing a "defense tax" on capital and the highest incomes to finance increasing running costs within the defense sector in the coming years.
The government wants to finance the upgrade through loans. To agree to this, the Left Party wants the upgrade to also include investments in, for example, railways and power grids.

Prolong and increase the supplement in housing benefits: 650 million kronor
