They talked about Viktor Orbán's "surprising but gratifying" quick acceptance of the election results and avoiding a situation where the vote figures could have been questioned.
The question is whether Hungary will now pass through a loan to Ukraine of 90 billion euros, something that Orbán opposed.
"I am not going to draw any hasty conclusions, but I think the signals we have received so far from Hungary have been very promising on that particular issue," says Kristersson.
Hungary's government will not take office until May 15, according to the Prime Minister.
"If we can resolve the loan to Ukraine immediately afterwards, it would be a huge success for us, for Europe and for Ukraine, and a huge setback for Russia."
