Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson was accused of a conflict of interest when it became clear that he had participated in the decision that his sister-in-law's foundation would receive increased funding in the spring amendment budget.
"He is disqualified because she is a married relative," Olle Lundin, professor of administrative law at Uppsala University, told Aftonbladet.
Now Kristersson says he did not know the details of the decision.
"This is a foundation that has received grants from the state for many years," he tells Aftonbladet.
He denies that he knew that his sister-in-law was on the board.
"No, I don't think I knew that. I don't keep track of my sister-in-law's activities in that way," he says.
