Bjorn Wiechel (S):

We Social Democrats want to take Swedish culture seriously. This means that people should be able to participate where they live, through, for example, study associations, cultural schools and sports. And it is important that we strengthen common institutions that hold the country together and reflect the whole country, which is why we want a strong public service and we also want to strengthen Swedish film production.

Alexander Christiansson (SD):

Culture itself and its design should be shaped by artists and citizens themselves. As a politician, I will not interfere in that. However, I want to create good conditions for Swedish cultural life. It is essentially about implementing initiatives aimed at children and young people and broadening funding with the aim of strengthening the financial position of cultural creators and thereby artistic freedom.

Kristina Axén Olin (M):

We haven't talked enough about the value of culture in society, how culture must be protected and that unfortunately it is not something we should take for granted. I think we all need to help each other out there. School is also an important arena, both to help ensure that all children are exposed to different cultural expressions and hopefully find their own favourites, but also to ensure that all children learn to read and gain reading comprehension. Reading is a cornerstone for being able to take part in culture and become part of the community.

Vasiliki Tsouplaki (V):

In our national budget, we have approximately 1 billion more for culture and 900 million more for public education than the government and the SD. These are important additions that are needed to create a stronger infrastructure for culture throughout the country and enable more people to come into contact with creation and creativity.

Catarina Deremar (C):

For me, it is important that as an elected member of the Riksdag, I highlight and demonstrate the importance of culture in many contexts. I would like leading politicians in the government to also express this clearly. Not least in these times of great concern in the world. The basis is that culture is available to everyone throughout the country, both to participate in and to create for themselves. Then more people will experience the value of culture.

Roland Utbult (KD):

Culture lives and thrives in many contexts, so I am not worried about it weakening. But for it to develop positively, the social and economic conditions for cultural workers must be addressed by the government (regardless of who is in power). It is also important that tax deductions and matching (with private funding, editor's note) are introduced.

Mats Berglund (MP):

The Green Party wants to see a new restart for culture throughout the country, with investments in more culture in schools, a stronger infrastructure for culture with support for organisers, local organisations and non-profit cultural organisations. Cultural creators also need better economic conditions and a sustainable security system. The Green Party wants to return the half billion that the Tidö parties cut from the student unions and at the same time invest more in folk high schools.

Malin Danielsson (L):

The Liberals want to implement a national cultural lift to make culture and cultural heritage more accessible to more people. If culture is to be valuable to everyone, we must also accept that it is experienced differently. Not all culture will speak to everyone, and that in itself is a value. The role of politics is not to make art more accessible or more “relevant,” but to create the conditions for a free and accessible cultural life. And schools play an important role in this.
