Until now, the reunification of the peninsula into a single Korea has been a very difficult issue for both countries. After many years of conflict, phrases such as "realizing the reunification of the motherland" have now been removed from North Korea's constitution, the South Korean agency, which is still called the Ministry of Unification, announced.

In a speech in March, Kim Jong-Un reportedly called South Korea "the most hostile country." South Korean President Lee Jae-Myung, however, wants the two countries to negotiate without reservations in the hope of peace.

Korea was a unified kingdom for many hundreds of years, then was occupied by Japan and divided after World War II.
