Kalmar's fate in other hands: "Then it lives"

After last year's sixth place, Kalmar FF has gone significantly heavier this year. In the second-to-last round, the Smålanders faced IFK Göteborg in a thrilling match at Gamla Ullevi.

Both teams were in great need of a win – but both had to settle for a draw after Kalmar's Melker Hallberg equalized on a free kick in the second half.

There are mixed feelings. We wanted more and it feels like we're throwing away the first half, says Simon Skrabb.

For Kalmar – currently second to last in the table – a lot now depends on how the other bottom contenders perform later in the weekend and on Monday.

You'll be wiser on Tuesday. But we've put ourselves in this situation, so it's something we have to live with, says Simon Skrabb.

IFK Värnamo currently holds the qualifying spot. Värnamo has the same number of points as Kalmar. But a better goal difference and an additional match to play, as the team faces Brommapojkarna on Sunday.

A match many from Kalmar will be watching with interest.

Yes, unfortunately, I'll be watching that match, says Dino Islamovic.

To Halmstads BK – on safe ground – it's three points. But even HBK has two matches left to play and a better goal difference.

Next weekend, Kalmar faces Häcken in what could be a thrilling round.

We'll have to hope that Halmstad loses big against Djurgården and that Värnamo doesn't win. Then there's still hope, says Simon Skrabb.
