Linn Grant is playing great and shares the lead in the LPGA Tour competition The Annika after two rounds. At the other end of the results list is Kai Trump, clearly the worst of everyone in the starting field.

With the premiere nerves aside, things did go a little better in the second round for the 18-year-old American, granddaughter of President Donald Trump.

83 strokes on the first day was followed by 75 on the second – but with a total of 18 strokes over par, Kai Trump finishes last in the competition in Belleisle, Florida.

"The first day I was really, really nervous, the nerves were affecting me. When I went out there today I felt very calm and that's why I played better," Trump said.

Trump has modest golf credentials, but has 2.5 million followers on Instagram and received a sponsor invitation to the competition hosted by Annika Sörenstam.

When Trump had already finished playing, Linn Grant began to climb the leaderboard. After a bogey on the first hole, the birdie putts began to pour in in a steady stream in the afternoon. Grant made a total of eight birdies and after 63 strokes she is -9 overall, which is enough to share the lead with Grace Kim, Australia, going into the final two rounds.

"It's so wonderful," Grant tells Aftonbladet about the feeling when the game works like it did during the second round.

Now she gets to go out in leader ball on Saturday:

I try not to think too much about the score. When I've played well this season, I've thought, "Now I'm doing well, so now I'm going to push and push myself," instead of just going out and enjoying myself. I'm going to try to have a little more ice in my stomach now and just do my thing.

Linn Grant won her only PGA Tour victory to date when she won the Dana Open in 2023. This season has been frustrating for the Skåne native, who has fallen to 53rd place in the world rankings.
