Three people arrested on suspicion of the jewel heist at the Louvre in Paris have been released, several sources told AFP, while two other people are being charged.

Five people who were arrested this week, suspected of involvement in the spectacular jewel heist, were brought before detention hearings in Paris on Saturday.

Two of them, one of whom is a 38-year-old woman, are facing charges. The woman is suspected, among other things, of aiding and abetting the coup. The other three people have been released, according to AFP's sources.

It has already been known that two men are being charged. They are suspected of being the people who broke into the museum while two others waited outside.

In total, seven people have been arrested so far for the heist, where the stolen jewels are said to be worth the equivalent of just over 960 million kronor.

The burglary occurred on October 19th when four masked robbers stole a number of jewelry and jewels. The robbery was carried out using a stepladder and took place over the course of seven minutes.

Among the jewelry that has not yet been found are a necklace with emeralds and diamonds that Napoleon Bonaparte gave to his wife, Empress Marie Louise, and a diadem belonging to Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III.
