The government crisis in Japan is near a solution. The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will form a coalition government with the right-wing party Nippon Ishin.

If the coalition comes together, it means that Japan will soon have its first female prime minister in Sanae Takaichi, who recently took office as leader of the LDP.

Shortly after Takaichi stepped into her new role, the smaller coalition party Komeito left the government coalition with the (LDP), after nearly 25 years of joint rule.

The reason for Komeito's departure is said to be objections partly to how Takaichi has handled revelations of corruption among LDP representatives and partly to her more conservative orientation.

The leaders of the new coalition government are to sign an agreement on the agreement on Monday.
