"When we were about to board our flight from Sanaa about two hours ago, the airport was subjected to an airstrike. One of the crew members on our plane was injured," says Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in a statement according to BBC.
The head of the World Health Organization says further that he is in a safe location.
The Huthi movement reports that airstrikes have also been directed against a power plant in the port city of Hodeida on Thursday. A total of three people have been killed and 14 injured in the attacks, according to the movement.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says in a statement that the attacks on the Huthi movement will continue "until the job is done".
"We are determined to cut off this branch of terrorism from the Iranian evil axis," says Netanyahu.
The attacks come a day after the Huthi movement, with close ties to Iran, fired a ballistic missile and two drones at Israel.
On Saturday, 16 people were injured in Tel Aviv by a missile in another attack by the Huthi movement. The latter attack led to Netanyahu ordering the military to destroy the Huthi movement's infrastructure in Yemen.
The US attacked several targets belonging to the Huthi movement in Sanaa on Saturday, according to the US military command for the Middle East.
