At least eight people, including five children, have been killed in an Israeli air attack on Gaza, according to the Hamas-controlled civil defense there.
The attack took place on Sunday morning against a house and a tent in Khan Yunis, where refugees were located.
Almost two weeks ago, Israel broke the fragile ceasefire that had been in place since January 19. Since then, nearly a thousand people are reported to have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza.
The bombings in Khan Yunis took place simultaneously as mediators Egypt, Qatar, and the USA are trying to achieve a new ceasefire, which would also ensure that the Israeli hostages still held by the terrorist-stamped Hamas are released.
On Saturday, Hamas announced that it had accepted a proposal from the mediators for a ceasefire. Israel has responded by submitting a counter-proposal.
