The Swedish star gave his team the lead in the away match against West Ham in the 61st minute when he neatly shot directly with his right foot and placed the ball next to West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola's right post.
Six minutes after his goal, he was substituted in favor of Hugo Ekitiké.
"I know it's taken time and I've tried to get back to my best form. There's still a long way to go, but I'm happy with the goal," Isak told Sky Sports.
“Best feeling”
Already in the first half, the Swedish goal scorer had a chance from close range, but Areola saved it.
In extra time, Cody Gakpo was able to secure the three-pointer with his 2–0 goal.
Isak's goal was as eagerly awaited as Liverpool's three-pointer – and the Swedish national team star highlighted the importance of the three points.
The best feeling today was winning and it's the best way to get a good atmosphere in the group, but of course as a striker it's always good to score goals, he says.
Last season's superb champion team had lost nine of their last twelve matches in league and cup games before Sunday's match - the worst streak since the 1953-1954 season.
“A top striker”
The win against West Ham was only the team's second victory in the Premier League in the last eight games.
Alexander Isak made his sixth league appearance for his new club and had previously scored, in September, in the League Cup.
The Premier League's most expensive player in history, after his billion-dollar transfer from Newcastle this summer, has now scored a total of 55 goals in the English top flight.
Liverpool coach Arne Slot, heavily criticized lately, was delighted with Alexander Isak's ice clearance.
"He's a top striker and the finish was very good. I let him stay on the pitch long enough to give the team and himself a goal," he told the BBC.
