Almost a month has passed since Alexander Isak last scored a goal for his Newcastle.
And after having scored goals throughout the season, the four matches (two in domestic cup play and two in the league) can be seen as a long goal drought for the Swedish superstar.
But now it's over.
Against Nottingham Forest, where Anthony Elanga played from the start, the Swede struck with two goals in two minutes.
The first came when the clock had just ticked over 32 minutes. The 25-year-old then coolly chipped in his 18th goal of the season from the penalty spot. And before the clock had ticked over 34 minutes, he had also scored his 19th.
After a turn of play, Isak struck on the first shot and made it 4–1 for Newcastle, with a little help from a Nottingham Forest defender. In total, only 110 seconds separated the goals, and in between, the Swede even had time to celebrate with the home supporters.
The goals not only mean that he moves up to a shared second place in the Premier League's top scorer list, but also that he makes history.
Isak is now the Swedish player who has scored the most goals in Premier League history. After his two goals, he surpasses Fredrik Ljungberg, who previously shared the record with Isak, at 48 goals.
The match ended 4–3 to Newcastle, after Nottingham Forest came close to equalizing in the second half.
