According to state-run Iranian Press TV, a senior official said that Iran has presented five conditions to end the war.
The source said Iran will not let the US president dictate the timing of the end of the war.
Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met, the official said.
Among the Iranian demands are a complete end to “aggression and assassinations,” the establishment of concrete mechanisms to prevent a resumption of the war, war reparations, and support for reconstruction. Furthermore, Tehran demands an end to the war on all fronts and that the end of the war also apply to all of Iran’s allied groups in the region.
The country also demands that its control over the Strait of Hormuz be maintained and recognized as a guarantee that the other conditions are met.
The now-rejected American plan was reportedly handed over to Iran by Pakistani mediators earlier this week.
According to Israel's Keshet 12, President Donald Trump has proposed a month-long ceasefire during which the parties would discuss the handover of Iran's enriched uranium. The plan also reportedly includes demands for Iranian guarantees for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and a ban on future Iranian uranium enrichment.
