Internet use had been largely impossible since Iran's regime decided to violently crack down on protests. The shutdown had lasted 238 hours when internet traffic returned on a small scale on Sunday.
Among other things, Google services were accessible for a time, while other services did not work.
In addition, there were reports that the head of Iran's second-largest mobile operator had been dismissed after failing to comply with orders to shut down the internet, the state-run Fars news agency reported.
Late Sunday, NetBlocks reported that internet traffic had once again been completely throttled.
The anti-regime protests had broken out in recent days, and on January 8, the regime decided to crack down on demonstrators.
