The Jönköping club came to Linköping with strengthened self-confidence since they had won the two latest matches after having lost the six first matches of the hockey league for the season.
But already after one period, the home team led with 2–0. Then HV71 changed goalkeeper. Frederick Dichow had to leave and Lassi Lehtinen was put in.
He (Dichow) had a tough start today, that's what happens, it's no peculiarities, says HV coach Anton Blomqvist, about the goalkeeper change, to TV4 Play.
In the second period, HV71 reduced to 1–2 and then got in the third period several numerical advantages – but did not manage to equalize.
It was no attack at all, no puck tempo. It looks listless and frustrating. I am very disappointed with the performance in power play. That's what costs us the match, not to get anything from there, says Blomqvist.
In the last minutes, HV71 took out the goalkeeper in the hunt for an equalizer. It resulted in two goals in the empty net.
For Linköping, it was the third win for the season and the first at home.
