Around 230 migrants have been rescued at sea off the Greek island of Crete, according to the country's coast guard.
The migrants, who were traveling in inflatable boats, were first spotted by a vessel from the EU's border agency Frontex off the island of Gavdos, just southwest of Crete. On Sunday, around 600 migrants were rescued during various operations by the Greek coast guard.
So far this year, 7,300 migrants have arrived in Gavdos and Crete, after crossing the Mediterranean.
Greece is one of the largest destinations for migrants leaving Asia, Africa, and the Middle East for a future within the EU's borders.
