"We're getting a very good result today. We're strong all over the field and we're stopping them. We're creating chances and being effective," Sundsvik tells TV4 Play.
Most things have been going Rögle's way in the Swedish Championship playoffs for some time.
The team became the first in Swedish ice hockey history to turn a 0–3 deficit into a 4–3 victory when they defeated Färjestad in the quarterfinals.
In the first semi-final, the team turned a 0–3 deficit into a 5–3 win against Växjö, and on Friday evening the team took the lead and never gave it up.
Six straight victories
Rögle now has six straight victories in the Swedish Championship playoffs and, with a 2-0 lead, two straight home matches await in Ängelholm.
"I'm really looking forward to it. It's going to be really fun. But we have to take it one game at a time," says Albin Sundsvik.
The 24-year-old forward began his hat-trick night by scoring a rebound to make it 1–0 with just 48 seconds remaining in the first period.
The second goal came on a deflection midway through the match, when Växjö had earlier applied pressure on the Ängelholm side.
Lucky bounce
He completed his hat trick to make it 4–0 - in a somewhat fortunate way.
Mattias Göransson shot the puck down into the Växjö zone along the plexiglass. When substitute home goalie Ludvig Persson - who replaced Adam Åhman after the 0–3 goal - was about to stop the puck behind the goal, it hit a seam and bounced in front of the goal. Sundsvik was there and scored into an empty net.
Sundsvik scored six goals in 52 games in the regular season - now he has four goals and a total of nine points in eight playoff games.
After the 4–0 goal, Växjö collapsed, and the visitors scored two more goals.
Arvid Holm saved 16 shots for his first shutout in these playoffs.
