In the video, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, who is being held by Hamas and its allies since October 7, 2023, can be seen. He says in the film that he cannot believe that he is still alive after 22 months of war, reports Israeli media.
Guy Gilboa-Dalal is in the video above ground, in a car.
"We have received a sign of life from our Guy six months after the previous video where he was seen watching, with Evyatar David, when their friends are released," says his family in a statement.
The family confirms
Another hostage can also be seen in the video, Alon Ohel, whose family confirms that it is he who is seen in the video.
The video is the first images of Alon Ohel since he was kidnapped. On Friday, it has been 700 days since the terrorist-stamped Hamas carried out its coordinated attack against Israel.
"Guy, Alon and other hostages were transferred to Gaza, and we are deeply concerned for their lives. They must be brought home," says the Gilboa-Dalal family in the statement.
Guy Gilboa-Dalal says in the clip that he is in Gaza City and will remain there, just like the other remaining hostages, during the upcoming Israeli military operation.
Hamas may move them to areas where the Israeli military is making efforts, he says, and states that the film was recorded on August 28.
Conversation with parents
The video, or when it was taken, could not initially be verified by independent parties.
After a conversation with the hostages' parents, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assured that "no malicious propaganda video will weaken us in achieving our goals". This was stated by his office in a statement, according to Jerusalem Post.
The organization for hostages and families responded that Israel should instead push for the ceasefire agreement that is waiting for the Israeli government's response, and thus act to return the hostages.
The organization also warned Israel against paving the way for the murder of more hostages:
"You can no longer say that you did not know they were there," says the organization in a statement.
